A delegation from Waseda University in Japan recently visited the TUM Campus Straubing. The agenda included possible exchange programmes for professors from both universities and the expansion of joint cooperation.

The Selection Committee of the Global Young Academy (GYA) has finalised the selection of 41 new members to join the GYA in June 2023 for a tenure of five years. The GYA’s new member cohort includes representatives from 31 individual countries, covering all GYA general disciplines. One new member is Prof. Rubén Costa, head of the chair of Biogenic Functional Materials at TUM Campus Straubing.

Research institutions and companies from various industrial sectors are developing new approaches to using sustainable materials. The core of the consortium project “Future Sustainable Car Materials” (FSCM) is to develop innovative process routes and material concepts across large parts of the value chain.

In a guest lecture at TUMCS, Dr. Michael Schmeink from McKinsey & Company talked about Production Network Optimization.

TUM has retained its ranking as Germany’s strongest research university in business sciences. The latest issue of the WirtschaftsWoche rankings not only reaffirms the number one position of the TUM School of Management – it also highlights the work of individual researchers. Prof. Alexander Hübner from TUMCS is one of the 50 best.
